Interesting. I just found out that I share my birthday with Tim Allen, Malcolm McDowell, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, James Maxwell, and William Butler Yeats, among others. Hmm...comic guy, creepy guy, cute girls, computational guy, and compositional guy...
Anyway, check out your own B-Day info here.

Very cool pictures of colored smoke - I'm not sure how they were taken, but they're nice. Would make good background images for your desktop.

On second thought and with more perusal, check out the entire site of sensitivelight.com. The pictures are amazing! I especially love the macro work with hoverflies. I never knew they were so colorful!
The Birds of Prey page is incredible also. The whole site actually - just browse around and have fun on it.

If you have the bandwidth to handle a 60 meg download, this is a great little animation short (Rockfish) by BLUR. You'd be surprised to learn how much they do in the industry. Check them out.

Just look what you can do if you put your mind to it and have a few spare parts lying around - table top nuclear fusion!

Got some money? Might want to invest in a tornado in a can. I'm not joking.
Well, people argue if it's really a tornado, but it does do some pretty amazing things. Some people are saying it a perpetual motion machine, because it puts out more energy than is put into it. We'll see. Because of patent stuff the inventor has been kind of hush-hush. Right now the main thing they want to do with it is process chicken parts.
Anyway, read more about it if you want to. I give it a:

Uh oh, I'm being close to getting political again, but anywho...it's interesting what the French Foreign Minister said back in October.
World Politics. Ya gotta love 'em.

I never knew foresty was so techie. Check out the walking foresty machine, developed by a company over in Finland. Very cool. If you have the bandwidth, check out the walking videos too. The thing looks like a giant, mechanized ant. Very mobile, very terrain adaptable. Maybe they could send a modified one of these to Mars???

Metal Storm
I have seen the future and the future is fast. I'm not kidding. The title on this is no joke. I'd heard of million round per minute weapons, but now I've seen them. Test firing of 180 rounds in just over a hundredth of a second - they sound like one round fired.
It's something you kind of need to see to believe, but if you don't have a fast connection, forget it. The files are huge (over to 330 megs all together), but at least read and check out the pics.
Jaw-droppingly amazing, but a little scary at the same time. Also, fully electronic "smart" handguns. Choice of lethal/non-lethal rounds and thumbprint recognition. That way, you can't get shot with your own gun. You could still get beat over the head with it though.

Tin-Foiled Apartment
Okay, so you have a buddy who needs a place to stay, and you let him crash at your place. New Year's eve - you go out, he stays home. He gets bored, decides to play a prank on you. You get home and find your entire apartment wrapped in tin foil. And I do mean entire.
That's the story, the pictures are here.

Check it out! Your screen is not fuzzy, it really is a car made out of Legos. Specifically, a VolvoXC90.
