Give people time, a pencil, and a sharp knife, and amazing things can happen. Check it out - Pencil Carving.
I especially like the ball-joint one in the "To see our wroks" link. Simply amazing.
Problem is, now I want to try.

Chernobyl
Wow, this is really amazing. A pictorial tour of Chernobyl, or as she calls it, GHOST TOWN, given by probably one of the few people willing and able to do it. Quite amazing.
Almost 2.4 million people have seen this site, but since it is hosted on angelfire, sometimes bandwidth limitations shut it down. As such, I stripped the whole site (using WebStripper) onto my computer. The whole site is just under seven megs, if you want to get it yourself.

Okay, this is truly one of the coolest things I've found on the web. It sounds funny, but The Rasterbator is sure to provide a cool new look for one of your walls. Ever wonder how they get those big pics that cover entire walls? Well, here's your chance to get one of your own. Enjoy.
PS - Mail me a pic of your wall when you get it done. I'll try to post mine soon.

UPDATE - Okay, here is a sample of a rasterized pic. It's a tree stump I found in Yosemite. To get an idea of the size, each square is a regular sheet of paper. I'll post another pic when I get it and the other ones I made put up in my room.

Easily the most amazing basketball shot I've ever seen. You just have to see the shot that defies gravity.

This is just plain fun. Text-to-speech software has come a long way. Most of the characters are good, but Audrey I think is one of the best. Try putting in a whole paragraph. The foreign languages are fun to play with too.

This one's too good to pass up. Highly imaginative and very well done. Check it out - a robot from a mini cooper.
Someone's done an excelent job of mixing CG with real video.

Life is getting weirder and weirder (and cooler too). First we have AeroGel, and now we have light transmitting concrete. What's next? See-through toilets?
---Wait, they've already done that.

I'm back! Little hiatus there for the last week. Anywho, here's something new. Kind of a leet speak translator. Only goes one way though. Anyway, check out what you would type like if you were a 12 year old on AIM.

Um, I don't know if this is actually useful for anything or not, but if you ever need a ROT-13 Translator, there's one here. I used it to translate a solution I found online for Crimson Room.
I'm not sure where ROT-13 comes from, but I think it's a UNIX thing.
(ROT-13, BTW, just is the 13 letter from the letter you actually want)

Okay, blogger wasn't working last night, but it seems like it's up and running again. Anyway, here are two links I found I thought were cool. First one is info on how we have come a step closer to Quantum Computing! Exciting stuff. To me anyway. I'm such a closet techie.
The other one is more on a fun side. The very first Superman comic book every. Scanned in and oh so fun to see.
Ciao

Remember the Rubix Cube? Have one sitting in your closet hopelessly jumbled? Well, with Cube Explorer you can solve it - usually in under 20 moves!
Now that's cool.
